Hello Matlock CC members,

My name is Rob Kiggen, 40 years old, and I'm from The Netherlands.

During the Easter weekend I'll be in Matlock.

On the Saturday I'm visiting Matlock Town FC.

On Easter Sunday I want to make a +/- 100/110 mile roundtrip through the Peak District National Park. The route of the 2016 "Tour of the Peak", for example, would be great. Especially as it's includes some of the better (?) climbs in the Peak District.

Do any of you on here have some useful information and/or tips for me? Or maybe there are people interested in joining/guiding me during this day? Or is there a club ride that day that I could be joining?

Any info would be appreciated!

Regards,
Rob Kiggen

Hello Andy,

Thank you! Yes, thats me on Strava.

The plan is to do a ride through the Peak District. Now I'm looking for a nice route that will take me to the best/better places of the District. I've got a Garmin so I can put routes in it. I've been searching and found a few challenging rides.

- Tour of the Peak (100 miles)
- Eroica Britannia (100 miles)
- The Peak Epic Sportive (100 miles)

The first one takes you also into the northern part of the District. But I think this one mainly goes over the larger and busy roads.
The other two seem to go over smaller roads.
The area around Hope (Mam Tor) seems to be great.

Another option is, when the weather is not so good, to take the MTB wth me. Don't know if there are any signposted routes?

Rob

If you go to the Peak District National Park website you can download the Eroica route which starts at Bakewell, there is one route about 100 miles.
