The Science of Cycling

Crucible Theatre, Sheffield
7.30pm, 30 June

Join us for an interactive celebration of cycling, packed full of demonstrations and debate.

Our academic experts will be joined by Olympic road race gold medallist Nicole Cooke and David Walsh – the journalist who exposed Lance Armstrong – to discuss the impact of the Tour de France on science and technology, exercise participation, and the region's economy.

What role does new technology play in the performance of elite cyclists? How can we sustain the positive effect on exercise participation after a major sporting event? How do we measure its economic impact?
