Youth Gear restrictions for British Cycling road and track events
Had a couple of queries about this recently:
Gear restrictions for British Cycling road and track events are-
Youth A (under 16) 6.93 mtrs
Youth B (under 14) 6.45 mtrs
Youth C (under 12) 6.05 mtrs
Youth D (under 10) 5.50 mtrs
Youth E (under 8 ) 5.10 mtrs
This is the distance travelled with one full revolution of the crank.

Couple of other points:
1. Juniors have restrictions too - (Under 19 / Over 16 - From 1st Jan of year in which 17th birthday falls to 31st December of year in which 18th birthday falls.) Maximum Gear = 7.93 metres (e.g. 52x14)
2. This is a great website for working out development /ratios and other things once you work out how to navigate it!:

I know it's only 10 cm, but which is the correct figure, the 5.5 metres listed on here, or the 5.4 metres on the Heanor clarion page linked above for Youth D ? I have a feeling I may have to restrict a bike to this figure.
Actually rather than be lazy I'll double check myself. 5.4 metres is the correct figure.
