East Midlands Youth track sessions at Derby Velodrome
Message from Steve Palmer:
Ladies and Gentleman
Myself Ian and Graeme are pleased to announce we have secured 2 hours of track time dedicated to East Mids Riders.
This will every other week, Sundays 3-5pm (Track Time). (2-2:30 arrival - 6pm Depart (ish)).
We are just confirming the first Session with Possibles of 10th May or 24th May, will confirm asap.
We see no potential class of dates with Major Events around the country and very little impact on local events.
There will be a charge of £10 per session, this is non profit making session but we need to cover the cost and potential short falls in sessions we don't fill. Any surplus monies will be put towards the end of year sessions.
Riders must send me an email showing interest to ride prior to the sessions, we will then confirm riders shortly after.
Selection Criteria for these sessions:
Regular bike racers at MTB Road and Track.
Ridden an indoor/outdoor steeped bank track at RSR or Competition level.
Physically capable to deliver for the 2 Hours Plus.
Be able to listen and deliver what's required of the session.
Be responsible for themselves and kit.
Open too Youth A/B Girls and Boys and prolific Youth C should space allow.
In these sessions we will be covering Race Drills and Efforts, this is definitely not a "Learn To Ride the Track" session.
This is a private session so final decision on riders eligible/attending will be with the coaches.
By no means should these Sunday sessions impact on your Club Runs or Local Races, get these done first then come along. We may include group rides earlier in the day if you wish to get them done as a group. Be nice to show the Lincs side of the country a real bump in the road.
There is no criteria to attend every session but as we get closer to the East Mid Team Events Road and Track there will be a requirement for the Squad riders to attend were possible.
Please circulate around the riders.
This a first for the region Bike Racers, grab it.
