B&DCC Barlow SpoCo TT

Wednesday 10th June sees the inaugural running of a NEW sporting TT in the North Midlands region, based around Barlow / Holmesfield.

This year it is a club event so only £3 to enter (no cash prizes although we hope to have some non-cash prizes on the night), but it still counts towards the JE James Time Trial Series sporting course competition. We hope to run it as an open event next year.

Signing on is at Shillitoe Wood car park from 6pm (follow the brown tourist road signs). There is also ample parking on the verge further down Fox lane towards Barlow, please park on the East bound side of road, also on Far Lane.

Nearest post code for satnavs is S18 7WG.
If approaching from Barlow on the B6051 proceed past satnav destination to top of hill - car park is on the left
If approaching from the A621 via Baslow or Holmesfield/Owler Bar the car park is on right before the sat nav destination
If coming from Chesterfield via the B6050 or A619 you will pass Shillitoe Wood on your way to sat nav destination

First rider off 7pm.

Please allow 10/15 minutes from HQ to start and 20 minutes for the return to the HQ from the finish.

When approaching the start area use the triangle of road junctions at end of Dobbin lane to turn round - no U turns in sight of start.

Course will be well signed and marshalled.

Course Description: Start on B6051 in Barlow, in layby opposite jnc with Dobbin Lane; proceed westwards up Bradley Lane / Valley Road, to jnc with Fox Lane (1.5m). Bear left onto Fox Lane (signposted Shillitoe Wood) proceed (grovel) on / up Fox Lane to jnc with A621 (4.2m). Bear left (GIVE WAY) onto A621 and proceed west / down to Baslow RAB (6m); encircle RAB and rejoin A621; follow to Owler Bar RAB (11.4m); GIVE WAY enter RAB take 3rd exit B6054 Holmesfield / Dronfield and proceed eastwards on B6054 to finish line on brow of the hill by Church / War memorial (12.3m).
