Please check that the details in this table are correct. Remember that ages are taken at the beginning of this school year, ie 1st September 2014. Please ring if you find a mistake.
Course : Start by the path marker to the west of the gate on High Tor Road and the path going south. Proceed up the hill round the hairpin and then bear left at the Y junction of paths to finish approximately 30 m before the gate to the radio mast.
Getting there The hill is the extension of High Tor Road, over the unsurfaced track and through the wooden gate. High Tor Road is almost opposite Starkholmes Village Hall and between a telephone box and a bus shelter on Starkholmes Road, Matlock.
From Matlock Starkholmes Road can be accessed from the Matlock - Tansley Road (A615) at Matlock Green where it is almost opposite the junction of the A632 with the A615
From Cromford Take the road towards Holloway and Crich from the traffic lights, go over the river bridge and take the first road on the left on to Starkholmes Road. (not to Willersley Castle!). High Tor Road is at the summit of Starkholmes Road near to a bus shelter.
Event HQ Before signing - on please get your gear checked. Numbers and the signing-on sheet will be outside Starkholmes Village Hall with the gear checker. Signing-on starts at 9.00am The village hall is on Starkholmes Road, almost opposite the access road to the hill. Please return your numbers to the Hall. Help yourself to a free drink. Certificates and prizes will be presented in the village hall after the events.
There is car parking on Starkholmes Road opposite the Village Hall and on High Tor Road. Please do not park on the access track to the hill and in front of the gate.
Riders Notes Please do not ride on the hill after 10.00am whilst the race is on. Do not descend until told to do so when the race has finished at about 10.30. Descend with extreme care. After you have finished your race please move upwards away from the finish area. You must stay on the surfaced track at all times.
Parents please note that there are many tempting paths and caves/holes in these grounds. Please ensure the safety of your child.

British Schools Cycling Association East Midland Area Roller Championships To be held on Sunday, 28th September 2014 starting at about 11.00am Promoted by Matlock CC Stanley Fearns Cycles/Chubb & Co/First Ascent on behalf of the BSCA and under their rules and regulations. Gears. The following gears are the maximum allowed for the age group.

Racing: The U-7, and U-9 groups will ride a 250m standing start time trial and a flying start 500m time trial. The other age groups will ride a 500m standing start time trial and a flying start 1000m time trial. U-7, U-9 and U-11 will ride using the stands. U-13, U-15 and O-15 will ride without stands. Riders may be supported by helpers.

Prizes will be presented after the racing has finished. It is hoped that the event will be finished by 11.30am.
