Caudwell Children Kilo To Go Events
Message from Caudwell Children:
I am the Volunteer Manager with Caudwell Children. Caudwell Children has provided services worth over £35million to over 20,000 children with over 560 different medical conditions. The charity is committed to changing the lives of children by providing specialist direct family support, equipment, treatment and therapy as well as its annual ‘Destination Dreams’ holiday and their Enable Sport service. Caudwell Children was registered in March 2000 and is widely recognised as one of the country’s fastest growing children’s charities. Since its inception the charity has doubled every pound raised, achieved through supplier partnerships, which means every pound donated works even harder. The charity was founded by philanthropist, John Caudwell, whose vision was to create a sustainable children’s charity that offered benefactors’ transparency and peace of mind that 100% of their donation was being used to directly change children’s lives. By donating the cost of the charity’s annual management and administration overheads, John has guaranteed an efficient way for individuals and businesses to change the lives of thousands of sick and disabled children living in the UK.
We are the nominated Charity for all the Kilo to Go cycling events in the UK. The next cycling event is on the 17th May and is the Tor of the Peak which starts and finishes at Bakewell. We have cyclists who take part in the event and raise money on our behalf both within a group and as individuals. We are always looking for volunteers who are able to assist on the day with handing our medals, water, cheering on cyclists and generally helping us to support those fundraisers who are raising money on our behalf.
As the Volunteers Manager I am writing to you to see if any of your Club members or their families are able to assist with the event on 17th May. The Event runs from 6.30am until 6pm but if volunteers could assist at any time throughout the day then this would be brilliant! Every little bit of help makes a difference!
I attach a copy of our literature so you can see what help/support we give to families with disabled children and also a copy of the Events Assistant role description if this is of any help.
Our next Kilo To Go Events are as follows:
31st May – Essex Explorer
28th June – Flat out on the Fens
2nd August – Shropshire Mynd
I look forward to hearing from you.
