9 year old at Monsal hill climb.
I was led to believe the age limit for time trials was 12 years of age. Is there a special concession in place for closed road events like Monsal, or has the commentator got his age wrong at the end of this video?

Re: 9 year old at Monsal hill climb.
I am not one for knowing all the rules and regs but the CTT general rule is:
'The minimum age for competitors is 12 years. It is essential that competitors under 18 know the law and the Highway Code, and are competent to ride on public roads alone. They must have the authorisation of their parents to compete.
but
** Competitors under 12 may compete in events that are held on closed roads or off the public highway (parks, motor racing circuits etc.)"
The event was on a closed road so I guess he could have been under 12.
