Not a Lycra-lout in sight! I wish we could turn back the clock and have traffic free roads.....with modern bikes of course!....and Lycra, I wouldn't fancy riding in those Plus-Fours!

Here is an even older clip featuring my Grandfather ("Tommy Briggs of Bradford") as they go through Derbyshire in 1946!

I'm pretty sure that this is him from the 1945 race. He is the nearest to the camera on the left (on the photograph with the Lord Mayor of London).

Wow what a great photo! I love the detail of the Claud Butler, complete with braze-on for a front lamp bracket, lovely Chater-Lea chainset, wing-nuts on the front wheel and twin aluminium water bottles. One of the bikes behind is a Bates with diadrant forks. Cool
