Hi Supermurph - good ride on Tuesday evening!

Not quite the same course, the majority of it is but the start and finish are in different locations.

Our club events start off the A6 with the road up over the train tracks to join the A6 - for the Open we have permission to start on the A6. So from the junction where you join the A6 on the club course go about 100 yards along the A6 and there is a narrow layby forming the entrance to a B&B. The start is here although space is limited so best not queue up 10 minutes before your start time.

That's the good news because you have a slight downhill start and miss out the climb on the club course. Now the bad news the finish has to move on from the club TT position and its back towards Darley Dale from the start so the same downhill start is a finishing drag uphill.

Hope that makes sense. Given equal conditions the Open course is quicker because you avoid all the messing about before you get on the A6.

Cheers, I was happy with the time, looking forward to the wind dropping! I've entered the Grouse today so thanks for the course info, weather permitting I'll be there next week too.
