Inter Regional Track Selection Information.

East Midlands Track Cycling team selection criteria
Inter-Regional Track Championships 2014
Manchester Velodrome

4th 5th 6th and 7th September

This will be held as part of the Sainsbury School Games


4 male and 4 female Riders Youth A and Youth B eligibility. [There will be a nominated reserve rider]

From the East Midlands Region

Selection Criteria;

Any Riders interested will be expected to compete at the below events, and submit an expression of interest and CV to the manager Graeme Waters [muddygraeme@btinternet.com]

The selection of riders will be based on the following criteria;
Attendance at selection races. (Rider must ride the selection events to be in contention for a place on the team)

• Results in selection events Best 3 out of 5 results to count, although it would be preferable to enter all events.
• Northern Omnium rounds (does include one event on Manchester)
• These may be subject to change due to ongoing building work at Scunthorpe, awaiting confirmation hopefully by the end of February
Selection Events;
18th May Knowsley Youth Omnium Knowsley
23rd May Scunthorpe Poly Track league Scunthorpe
9th June Forest Town track league Mansfield
14th June Scunthorpe Poly Youth Omnium Scunthorpe
15th June Eastlands Velo Youth Omnium Manchester

The following points will also be taken into consideration and and are not exhaustive.

• Physical, technical and tactical capability.

• Headroom for improvement in general and within the specific discipline.

• Coachability.

• The ability to work within a team environment, being self-sufficient and able to support others within that team environment.

• To agree with and sign the riders code of conduct

• Availability for the event

• Roller 10 mile time trial times.

• 10 second rev out.

• Standing start 50 metre sprint.

• `Dustbins`

• Professional on and off the bike

• Take care of yourselves- fuelling, keeping warm, recovery between events etc

• Desire/ passion

• Commitment to training
• Attendance and participation at the National Junior Track Championships
The successful riders will be notified after ratification by the East Midlands Youth Development working Group and the Regional Board at the earliest opportunity after the conclusion of the selection events and submission of any expression of interest forms.

Inter Regional Track Championship Selection... Amended Criteria
PLEASE PASS INFORMATION ON
Due to the delay in getting Scunthorpe mended and repaired lots of you have been asking what is happening as part of the selection criteria
It has been decided, that there will be three selection events at Forest Town to replace the Scunthorpe events, all of the remaining selection criteria remains the same....
The 23rd track league at Forest Town is scheduled as a sprint night..
